Sometimes Nature Throws a Curveball

After a winter of cleaning up invasives, brush, and logging slash, in the span of an hour last Monday night Mother Nature decided to throw some things around and set us back quite a bit.


We have been clearing blocked trails, but our ability to clean up much more is going to be limited by heat and also that we are in oak wilt restriction season between April and October. Cutting oaks, even downed ones, is discouraged because it can spread the fungus that causes the disease.



We have been able to clear enough to open many of the trails again, some with reroutes, but please stay off of closed trails and away from down or leaning trees. Get outside and enjoy spring!
